A Female Student Asks Another Female Student to Prom, then Both Get Suspended

Two students have been suspended from their high school all because of a lesbian prom proposal.  It happened in the state of Alabama.

Alexandria High School was where the "incident" took place, incident in this situation meaning that the female student in question simply asked her girlfriend to the prom during their talent show with the help of another friend. As a result she and her friend got an in-school suspension, according to senior Ashley Fadely.

The girl who was asked to the prom was reportedly performing at the talent show and has not been disciplined.

The school is calling the incident a "disruption" but Fadely says there was never any issues when opposite gender couples asked each other to the prom.  There was even a marriage proposal once.

Fadely also said that what happened wasn't "disruptive" at least to her.

“I was there when it happened. It was right after her performance. No words were spoken by them. They just got happy, hugged and that was it,” she said.

Students have taken to social media to vent their frustrations about this, with many planning on boycotting their upcoming prom.

“I don’t think it was right that they might not be allowed to go to prom. I’ve decided…I’m not going to prom,” she said. “Some students have been trying to get refunds for prom (fees already paid).”

The principal and superintendent have not responded to the "disruption" as of yet.  Of course.
