It looks like the 2020 Presidential election has just begun as we have the first big campaign announcement.
Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren has announced her bid for US President in 2020. She made this announcement through Twitter and YouTube where she released a video explaining her reasoning for running as well as the formation of an exploratory committee.
As she said in the video below:
“I’ve spent my career getting to the bottom of why America’s promise works for some families, but others, who work just as hard, slip through the cracks into disaster. And what I’ve found is terrifying: these aren’t cracks families are falling into, they’re traps. America’s middle class is under attack. But this dark path doesn’t have to be our future. We can make our democracy work for all of us. We can make our economy work for all of us.”
The 2020 Presidential Election is expected to be wide-spread with rumors of former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Bernie Sanders announcing their campaigns later this Winter. That said, the New York Times asserts that Democrats need someone fresh and points out that both men would be in their late 70s by election time.
Warren, however is a new contender in the Presidential Race while being an old foe of President Donald Trump, who’s already announced his plans to run for a second term.
Will Warren be taken seriously by the American public? We’ll see in due time. Until then, you can check out the Elizabeth Warren campaign by heading over to her website.
