Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has reportedly been in rehab for the past month.
Page Six news broke the story that 32-year-old Harington checked into the Privé-Swiss in Connecticut, which costs $120,000 a month, nearly a month ago. He entered with the goal of dealing with alcohol abuse and stress.
Sources tell Page Six that the end of GOT “really hit Kit hard.”
“He realized ‘this is it — this is the end’, it was something they had all worked so hard on for so many years. He had a moment of, ‘What next?’”
“He’s in the clinic predominantly for stress and exhaustion and also alcohol.”
“His wife Rose is being extremely supportive. Everyone close to him really wanted him to get some rest. Right now, he just needs peace and quiet.”

To those who have been playing close attention to Harington, this comes as no surprise. The actor has not only had rumors of drunken binges for the past few years, but he’s also openly talked about his mental health being deeply affected by the show.
Back in March, Harington shared how he sought a therapist because of fan expectations from the show. After the end of season six, when the fate of his character was uncertain, Jon had to dodge countless fans hounding him for spoilers. He says that experience led to monumental stress.
“I felt I had to feel that I was the most fortunate person in the world, when actually, I felt very vulnerable,” Harington explained to Variety. “I had a shaky time in my life around there — like I think a lot of people do in their 20s. That was a time when I started therapy, and started talking to people. I had felt very unsafe, and I wasn’t talking to anyone. I had to feel very grateful for what I have, but I felt incredibly concerned about whether I could even f—ing act.”
In addition, Harington, who was 21 at the start of GOT, shared with Jimmy Kimmel how he had a mental breakdown towards the show’s completion.
“My final day of shooting, I felt fine … I felt fine … I felt fine … then I went to do my last shots and started hyperventilating a bit …Then they called ‘wrap’ and I just f—-g broke down. It was this onslaught of relief and grief about not being able to do this again.”
He added, “But the weirdest bit was when we came off set and they started taking the costume off and it felt like being skinned … It felt like they were unceremoniously for the last time ripping off this character.”
Sources say that Harington’s wife, Rose Leslie, is supporting him through this tough time. Locals who saw Harington walking around town, as he’s allowed to leave the rehab on breaks, also say he looked healthy and happy.
We send our best wishes to Harington during this tough time.
