People Are Celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s New Gay Footman

News is spreading about Queen Elizabeth II’s new footman named Ollie Roberts who's openly gay.

Roberts had his first public outing in this position yesterday as the Queen participated in the Trooping the Colour ceremony in London. That event is a part of the celebrations for the Queen’s birthday.

21-year-old Roberts, who is a former member of the Royal Air force, will now live in Buckingham Palace and travel with the Queen to formal events and her other homes. In addition, the Wales-born man will be riding on all carriages with the Queen.

Many are celebrating Roberts’s appointment due to him being an openly gay man.

In addition, it seems that the British royal family is becoming more and more accepting of LGBTQ people by the day. Several LGBTQ people were present at Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding. Plus, the now married couple, Prince William, and the late Princess Diana have all expressed support of LGBTQ rights.

  1. I’m sure plenty of gays have

I'm sure plenty of gays have worked for the British Royal family over the years.  I bet they even knew and it just never openly talked about it.  Big deal. Only difference now is that it's okay to openly talk about it.

    • I meant to say “Downton Abbey

I meant to say “Downton Abbey” and to the person who gave a negative vote, lighten up,  it’s a joke. Thomas, a footman at Downton had an affair with the Duke of Crowborough prior to the beginning of the show.
