Roseanne Thinks She Would Be a Better President Than Oprah

After the powerful acceptance speech from Oprah Winfrey as she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 75th Annual Golden Globes, the big “O” has been getting a lot of hype—especially from folks who are urging her to run for president in 2020.

Oprah’s speech, including an incredible ending that sounded so much like she is ready for the campaign trail:

In my career what I've always tried my best to do, whether on television or through film, is to say something about how men and women really behave, to say how we experience shame, how we love and how we rage, how we fail, how we retreat, persevere, and how we overcome. I've interviewed and portrayed people who have withstood some of the ugliest things life can throw at you, but the one quality all of them seem to share is an ability to maintain hope for a brighter morning, even during our darkest nights. So I want all the girls watching here now to know that a new day is on the horizon.

Even Seth Meyers, who hosted the award show hinted that Oprah running for president would be an incredible thing:

Oprah, while I have you, in 2011 I told some jokes about our current president at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner — jokes about how he was unqualified to be president — and some have said that night convinced him to run. So if that’s true, I just want to say: Oprah, you will never be president!

Not to mention the that the Twitterverse exploded with “Oprah for President 2020” and #Oprah2020 tweets.

Even Donald Trump had a few choice words on the subject:

Seems like everyone seems to be on board. Well—except for Roseanne Barr. The comedian, who presented at the Golden Globes, has voiced her big opinion once again on political matters. Roseanne, who has been open about her support for Donald Trump, shared her thoughts about the topic during a panel discussion about the return of Roseanne to ABC.

According to The Daily Wire, Roseanne commented:

I do love Oprah. Of course, I love Oprah like everybody else. But you know what? I think it was time for us as a country to shake things up and, you know, try something different.

She was obviously referring to Trump.

Then she was asked about Susan Sarandon and what she thought about the idea of the actress running.

Actually, I think I’d be a better president than Oprah and Susan Sarandon, probably even President Trump. And I did run in 2012.

Yeah—and she came in 6th place.

So it seems that she’s still got the fire under her to possibly get her horse in the race yet again.

I’ve always attempted to portray a realistic portrait of the American people and working-class people. And in fact, it was working-class people who elected Trump, so I felt that yeah, that was very real, and something that needed to be discussed, and especially about polarization in the family and people actually hating other people for the way they voted, which I feel is not American.

Roseanne shared some more of her thoughts about Trump:

Well, he says a lot of crazy shit. I'm not a Trump apologist. There are a lot of things he's said and done that I don't agree with, just like there are a lot of things Hillary Clinton has said and done that you don't agree with. Nobody is brainwashed into agreeing with 100 percent of what anybody says.

    • I am so sick of people

I am so sick of people wanting everything that they don't like, agree with, want to deal with, see, hear or read boycotted, banned or censored. Grow Up!

How about this? If you don't want to see the show, don't watch it. Simple!
