Watch: Madonna’s Entire GLAAD Awards Speech Is Now Available Online

As we’ve previously reported on, Madonna was the guest of honor at this year’s GLAAD Media Awards earlier this month, receiving the Advocate for Change Award for her decades-spanning advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community.

In the immediate wake of the awards ceremony, only snippets of the speech were available only. Now, Logo has released it in its 16-minute entirety.

In the characteristically moving speech, Madonna talks about Christopher Flynn, the gay man who inspired her to go after her dreams. She also talks about New York City at the height of the AIDS epidemic, and her charity work in Malawi.

At one point in the speech, when Madonna talks about her four adopted Malawian children, she is on the verge of tears. Then, she reminds her A League of Their Own co-star Rosie O’Donnell (standing on stage with her) of Tom Hanks‘s famous line “There’s no crying in baseball.”

GLAAD’s Advocate for Change Award is not an annual award. It has only been given once before, to Bill Clinton.
