Priest Believes Gay People Want Domination

In response to the sad turnout of the Straight Pride Parade, pastor Greg Locke said that LGBT people are seeking to dominate. Image via Facebook

As you may or may not know, the Boston Straight Pride Parade left much to be desired, as the participants of the parade were outnumbered by counter-protestors by about 1,000. While this is definitely a good thing as the parade was just a thinly-veiled excuse to air people’s homophobia in public, not everyone was pleased with it. One such person is right-wing pastor Greg Locke of Tennessee said that because the parade participants were so vastly outnumbered that LGBT people are looking for domination instead of equality, according to Pink News.

Using this logic, any minority group that has protested against obvious hate were just seeking domination instead of equality. Of course, that doesn’t make much sense as people have been protesting for their right to live forever so Locke is way off base. Luckily I’m not the only one to think that, as many people responded on Twitter with their thoughts on his tweet. One user commented that LGBT people only want to live authentically without ridicule, a thing that many straight people don’t think about as they have been accepted since humans became a thing.

That’s someone who understands what Pride is all about – living your life freely; not some reactionary “why can’t straight people be proud of being straight if gay people can be proud to be gay?” nonsense. Any rational person will realize that most gay people aren’t looking to dominate any group or get extra rights, but for some who have never had their rights challenged, trying to gain equal footing will seem like oppression.

  1. Wouldn’t it be great to move all these wingnuts into a Truman Show type place so they can live with one another and broadcast their insane attitude to kingdom come and back again and let the rest of live in the real world? The trouble is these morons breed far too often. Well, it’s a thought anyway.
