Senator Ted Cruz ‘Likes’ Porn Video On Twitter

Not in front of my…. social media accounts?  Texas Senator Ted Cruz made a big blunder on his Twitter account last night by accidentally liking a pornographic video from the handle @SexuallPosts.  The two minute video was liked by over 400 accounts, including his.

Per the New York Daily News, Lewd footage of the actors — two women and a man — briefly appeared on Cruz’s feed of liked tweets for no particular reason early Tuesday. It’s unclear whether the married father of two personally liked the tweet or if a staffer using his account did the deed.

Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier quickly addressed the senator’s late night Twitter activity and said “the offensive tweet posted on @tedcruz account earlier has been removed by staff and reported to Twitter.”  Frazer mistakenly wrote that it was posted, not liked.

Sure, he did nothing wrong here.  Per Twitter's rules, it prohibits the promotion of adult or sexual products and says live videos, profile images and headers may not feature graphic content, such as pornography. It has no authority over what users can like or not like.

Ted Cruz has been very anti-sex positive over the course of his career.  He pulled a Marco Rubio ad after his team found out that a softcore porn actress starred in it and tried to ban sex toys in his state of Texas.  His former roommate Craig Mazin threw a huge jab at Ted regarding his views on masturbation by tweeting "Ted Cruz thinks people don’t have a right to ‘stimulate their genitals.’ I was his college roommate. This would be a new belief of his."

Was this a mistake done by him or his team?  We aren't sure.  The @sexuallposts handle however thanked him for watching.
