Helix Studios performer Shane Cook has shared some unfortunate news.
Yesterday, Cook posted a picture of himself on Twitter. He started the caption for the post by sharing that he was embarrassed about something for the past 3 to 4 months.
Cook then elaborated by saying that he's been fighting stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer for the past few months.
He then added:
“I’ve had some hair loss and I’ve lost muscle but I haven’t lost anything that I won’t be able to get back and some so I’m goi g to keep doing what I need to do for myself and look forward to filming later on! [sic]"
While we’re glad to hear that Shane Cook is confidently fighting against the disease, we want to reaffirm (for him and any viewer who reads this) that there is no shame in fighting cancer. Side-effects like weight or hair loss may happen, but the important thing is the persistence to live.
In addition, we'd like to add that there are many ways that we can all fight cancer (and specifically lymphoma). One such way is to donate to causes like the Lymphoma Research Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
