The Eurythmics Reunited & Debbie Harry Rapped At Sting’s Recent Rainforest Benefit

Sting’s We’ll Be Together benefit concert for The Rainforest Fund historically brings out the legends to perform for a worthy cause and has consistently had some amazing collaborations. As this was the 30th annual concert, the legends that hit the stage for this event are surpassed expectations from the packed crowd at New York City’s Beacon Theatre.

One of the evening’s most nostalgic and memorable collaborations was the the reunion of Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart as the Eurythmics. This was their first performance together since a tribute concert to The Beatles in 2014, and also the first time they’d performed their own material together since 2008 at a U.K. Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Robert Downey Jr. took to the stage to introduce them, and the famed duo launched into their hits “Would I Lie To You”, “Here Comes The Rain Again”, and their iconic single, “Sweet Dreams”.

The nostalgia-fest continued, as Debbie Harry took the stage and launched into Blondie‘s “Call Me” & “Rapture”, then joined by none other than Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, who then added a brand new rap verse to the 1980 #1 hit.

The musical surprises continued, as Americana rockers Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp tackled Springsteen’s “Glory Days”, and followed it up with Mellencamp’s “Pink Houses”.

On a night that included legendary music like this, there is no better way to end the We’ll Be Together benefit than with a star-studded collaboration. Springsteen and Mellencamp were joined by the entirety of the evening’s lineup, which included James Taylor, Sting, Ricky Martin, Shaggy, Pose star MJ Rodriguez, and even Downey Jr.—for scorching rendition of Journey‘s “Don’t Stop Believing”
