It looks like there’s yet another LGBTQ actor on the CW’s The Flash.

Back in 2018, The Flash and Love, Simon star Keiynan Lonsdale came out as bisexual. Now, it appears that his castmate Rick Cosnett has also come out. The 36-year-old who plays Detective Eddie Thawne came out as gay through an Instagram video yesterday.

“Hi everyone. Dramatic pause. I’m gay,” he said in the social media post.

Cosnett then talked about how his own internalized homophobia kept him from accepting and openly discussing the truth about his sexual preference and romantic interests. But according to Cosnett, that is no longer true.

“I just wanted everyone to know because I’ve made a promise to myself to live my truth every day and sometimes that is a really hard thing to do when you have all these subconscious things that you don’t even know about from childhood and society and from just life,” he said.

And he figures, “most of you probably knew anyway.”

As to his “most probably knew anyway” comment … yes or no or whatever. It doesn’t matter if we already knew or not.  We are sure there will be a ton of “WHO CARES” comments on our Facebook page and Twitter. Those people have their own things to deal with, or they are saying who cares as it doesn’t really matter, who cares if you like men as long as you are happy.  Unfortunately, most “who cares” are the former troubled people.  Well, we are proud of you for the person that this coming out vocalization is the most important to … is you, Rick.  You have to be true to yourself, and if that means hearing it out loud and sharing it on social media, then that is what it takes.  Bravo! Life just got better once again.
