Forty-one years after the release of the most successful movie musical of all time, Grease stars Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta reunited to host a special screening of the sing-a-long version of the film in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday evening.

The audience of over six thousand attendees roared as the two stars emerged from backstage after the screening dressed in costumes reminiscent of their movie characters and looking amazingly youthful.

Travolta shared during a Q&A segment it was the first time the duo had been in costume as “Danny” and “Sandy” since the film wrapped over four decades ago.

The sing-a-long version of Grease has been around for years and a staple of outdoor venues during the summer, but neither of the two stars had ever attended one of the screenings.

In addition to belting out the pop tunes in the film, audience members are given props for audience participation throughout the movie.

Every time the cheerleaders appear during the pep rally sequence, the audience is encouraged to wave a set of pompoms, there are bubbles to blow for “Beauty School Dropout,” and a racing flag to wave at the start of the penultimate drag race.

The promoters brought in the actual ‘Greased Lightning’ car featured in the movie for fans to take pics with, and Olivia & John (who rocked a ‘Danny Zuko wig for the event) posed for photos with fans in a malt shop setting.

Michael Tucci, Barry Pearl, and Kelly Ward – who play the bumbling T-Birds gang members –  were also on hand to pose for photos and entertain the audience before the show.

The event moved on to Tampa on Saturday and Jacksonville on Sunday.

Word is the duo are talking about taking the ‘Meet N Grease’ sing-a-long reunion on a tour of the U.S. after the huge success over the weekend.
