Kids will be kids right? That was my first thought of hearing a group of 7 vandals blew up a newspaper box. Let's not jump to calling this a hate crime so quickly. I had a kid break into my car, I'm gay, so is that a hate crime?
Of course this is all based on motive and reason. And this is not the first time the newspaper has been targeted.
Seven people caught on video walking up to an LGBT newspaper box in Salem put an explosive inside and detonated it, leaving the box a smoldering wreck, in what its owners called just the latest attack on their publication.
But if anyone thought it would make The Rainbow Times go away, publisher Gricel Ocasio said they can think again.
“This is a form of censorship. I guess, perhaps, they thought they can silence us and we would be gone. We will not be silenced,” she said. “We have two new boxes coming into the city. We are not deterred.” – bostonherald.com
