Billy Porter has gathered the support of several celebrities to celebrate the holiday season and self-love.
Emmy-winning Pose actor Billy Porter recently released a single titled “Love Yourself.” The lyrics for the song encourage self-love and the confidence to accept yourself.
As Porter sings, “Always remember who you are/ If you wanna be in the picture/ Well, you gotta meet/ Open your eyes, it’s time you realize/ Now is the time to shine”
And now, Porter has released a music video to go with the new song. Even better, he did so with the help of many celebrities.
From Lin Manuel Miranda, to fellow Pose Star MJ Rodriguez, to Kelly Rippa, Cyndi Lauper, Lin Manuel Miranda, and more. Many celebrities jumped at the chance to be recorded lip-syncing to Porter’s new song.
“Wow… my heart just skipped a beat. What a gift it is to be celebrated by my peers and afforded a moment for me to reflect,” wrote Porter on social media while sharing the video. “I don’t get a lot of time to do that…how blessed I feel to have lived long enough to see this day. Thank you everybody! Thank you for listening! The category is…LOVE.”
