Security Forces Capture Isis Executioner Who Killed Many Gay Men

Thousands of LGBTQ people have been living in fear in countries like Iraq and Syria due to the presence of the homophobic and anti-LGBTQ group ISIS.

That said, US forces in Iraq have captured an ISIS member notorious for murdering LGBTQ people.

The man in question is named Abu Omer and was a senior executioner known for the alias “White Beard.” Omer controlled the Iraqi city of Mosul until last year when security forces won it back from his power.

Despite city now crawling with his enemies, Omer chose to stay and hide out in a safe house within.

As The Times reports, Omer was recently found and captured on January 1.

Unfortunately, even if Omer has been found, the terrorist group ISIS is still strong and gay men are being murdered constantly in cities under their control.

As US Lieutenant General Paul Funk stated, the city of Mosul and the country of Iraq are still volatile and at the mercy of an unbalanced power struggle.

“The conditions remain present for Daesh to return, and only through coalition and international efforts can the defeat become permanent.”

A Gay Guerrilla Group Fighting ISIS Tweeted Out Love To Stockholm Pride

A gay guerrilla group has surfaced to fight against ISIS and their letting themselves be known to the rest of the world.

Yesterday, Stockholm Pride got a surprise when The Queer Insurrection and Liberation Army (or TQILA “aka tequila”) tweeted out a message in solidarity.

The tweet said, “Att få älska vem man vill är värt kampen! Kärlek från Raqqa till Pride Stockholm,” and meant, “Getting to love whoever you want is worth the fight! Love from Raqqa to Pride Stockholm.”

This then inspired responses from people at Stockholm Pride who wished the soldiers well and hoped for their safety.

This guerilla group rose up in a reaction to their harsh and extremely anti-gay environment while using the motto: “These faggots kill facists.”

In their fight against ISIS and an extremely toxic Islamic State, TQUILA is alligned with another group called the International Revolutionary People’s Guerilla Forces or IRPGF.

IRPGF has also released some information outlining why TQUILA was founded. Part of the document, which is imaged below, states that, “The images of gay men being thrown off roofs and stoned to death by Daesh was something we could not idly watch.”

It also states that they believe, “queerphobia, homophobia, and transphobia are not inherent to Islam or any other religion.”

Not much else is known about either group as they try to remain as secret as possible for their own safety. What we do know is that there are people fighting for LGBTQ rights against hateful and terroristic groups like ISIS.

Some may feel that these tweets sending love is condoning or ignoring the violence that groups like TQUILA or IRPFG are committing. And while yes, killing is a monstrous thing to do, for these people the reality is that the only other option is to be killed themselves.

So good for TQUILA and IRPFG for fighting back. Those of us who are living in places where we can have Pride events and do things like hold hands without getting killed should be praising your fight to live and to love.

LGBT Group Fights Back Against ISIS

The International Revolutionary People’s Guerilla Forces (IRPGF) announced the creation of the first LGBT military unit that will fight against the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) on Syrian battle grounds. The group, comprised of an unknown number of international volunteers goes by the name The Queer Insurrection and Liberation Army – TQILA (pronounced tequila? Too good not to mention).

IRPGF is an anarchist movement made up of a collection of international fighters who are in Syria battling ISIS alongside the Kurdish army known as the YPG (People’s Protection Units).

The formation of TQILA comes after the rise in targeting of queer people by ISIS terrorist groups. Just last year at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida Omar Mateen underwent an attack that killed 49 people. The location was targeted as a nightclub for ‘homosexuals’ – a taboo punishable by death in Syria and Iraq among other Islamic territories.

Men who have been targeted, hunted and accused of being gay have been blindfolded, tortured and murdered before large crowds.

Enough is enough! The group posted an announcement on their Twitter page declaring TQILA’s efforts to bring down ISIS

The group’s logo, a black AK-47 over a pink background, symbolizes the group’s motto: “Shoot back! These faggots kill fascists!”
