Could a brand new package of unreleased music be coming from one of the biggest girl groups of all time? If Matthew Knowles, Beyonce’s father and Destiny’s Child’s manager has anything to say about it, the answer is a resounding yes!
In a two page spread for In Touch Weekly this week, Knowles spilled all of tea on future music from Destiny’s Child.
Knowles told In Touch Weekly that he has an unreleased album from the group, which in addition to Beyonce, includes Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland. Knowles indicated that he does have plans to release the album “at some point” although no specific timeframe was indicated.
There was one hint provided though; earlier this year, Knowles announced that Survivor: The Destiny’s Child Musical is forthcoming and will premiere in Houston, Texas in 2020. Based on his comments, the release of the album could possibly coincide with the opening of the stage show. Knowles did go on to say “I own the rights to an album. These are great songs, sixteen of them. You’ll see the synergy between the album, book and musical”.
“Nothing’s confirmed,” he said about a reunion. “I would personally love it, and I know their fans would too, but the ladies are working on individual projects.”
May 2020 be the year that Destiny’s Child gets a much needed rebirth!
