In Part 1 of the BravoCon Breakdown, I dropped tea galore from BravoCon weekend on Real Housewives cities from New York City to New Jersey. In the second of this two part piece, you’ll get plenty of tea on everything from The Real Housewives of Atlanta to Vanderpump Rules, along with some dish that happened at the live taping of Watch What Happens Live.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta
As the peaches of RHOA just premiered Season 12, the drama is already starting to amp up, in no small part due to the return of the twirl-tastic Kenya Moore. From Cynthia Bailey discussing her wedding date (10/10/20) to some dish being dropped at the panels throughout the weekend (Porsha Williams and Eva Marcille are “not in a good place). When asked who should return to the show, Eva said she has known Phaedra (Parks) since she was eighteen years old, and would love Phaedra to return. The #RHOA moderator said original cast member “Lisa Wu” to which Porsha said to Kenya “I don’t think she can hang with this group”
Vanderpump Rules
The cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spin off Vanderpump Rules was represented as well, including a surprise appearance by Lisa Vanderpump herself (seeing her walk directly past original cast mates from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Kim Richards and Adrienne Maloof was not lost on those in the audience). From teasing Jax & Brittany’s married life (and upcoming wedding) and Tom Sandoval giving drag realness on-stage, the kids of Vanderpump Rules came to play. Story wise, it looks like we may be seeing the “Emancipation of DJ James Kennedy” in the upcoming season, based on what Vanderpump herself teased.
It would not be BravoCon if it some surprises didn’t crop up, and the cast of Vanderump Rules brought a big one; they came along with the trailer for Season 8 of Vanderpump Rules, which is poised to premiere in 2020. Based on what we’re seeing, it has everything we’ve come to expect from this show; laughter, tears, weddings, engagements, and even some splintering of longtime friendships.
OG Panel
Seeing original Housewives from almost every city reunite on stage was surreal and made you truly wish each of them would take a visit back to their respective cities and shake them up a bit (especially after RHONJ original star Caroline Manzo’s honest and direct words about fellow former co-star Teresa Giudice’s recent interview)
Watch What Happens Live
Andy Cohen took advantage of having a huge amount of Bravo-lebrities in one space to film a mega episode of his eponymous talk show Watch What Happens Live during BravoCon weekend. This offered a unique opportunity that we have gotten to see only rarely; Housewives and Bravo-lebrities from other cities and shows crossing and possibly airing out previous grievances or seeing new friendships blossom.
For a brilliant game titled aptly Squash That Beef, Cohen let Housewives who had issues with each other bring them right to each other directly, with him as the pseudo referee. New York Housewife Ramona Singer found herself in the crosshairs of several Housewives from other cities, including Potomac’s Gizelle Bryant and Orange County’s Vicki Gunvalson, to hilarious and vintage Ramona Singer results.
One beef we did not expect squashed was the legendary one between The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills former co-stars Lisa Rinna and Kim Richards, who’s feud culminated with a wine glass smashing dinner in Amsterdam several seasons ago. The reason for the detente definitely sounds like it’s due to a family affair; Rinna’s daughter is now dating one of Richards’ son-in-law’s brothers. Could these two former feuding Housewives become…family?
Werk Out With Dorinda Medley
What better way to wrap up BravoCon weekend than with some cardio, courtesy of The Real Housewives of New York City fan favorite Dorinda Medley and “Doorobics”? After seeing Medley and friend Jon Giswold in complete 80’s regalia on the last season of The Real Housewives of New York City, bringing the event live to BravoCon made this event one of the most popular of the weekend. Surprise guest Andy Cohen (dressed in his best vintage 80’s workout gear) joined Medley and Giswold on stage to lead the packed BravoCon crowd in some cardio to wrap up the weekend.
