A scandal is breaking out in the Major League Baseball world because of an agent.
Jason Wood, the president of baseball for the agency CSE, was just suspended by the player’s union. Why? FanRag reports that it’s because Wood allegedly filmed many baseball players. In one circumstance, he specifically did it while the player showered in his St. Louis home.
In addition, Jason Wood has also been fired from his agency because of these stories.
“For over 32 years, CSE Talent has prided itself on our moral and ethical standards and have built a solid reputation within the industry,” said CSE president Danny Martoe in a statement. “It’s unfortunate that CSE Talent aligned itself with someone who didn’t uphold these same standards and therefore we chose to terminate with cause Wood’s employment.”
Despite all this, Woods is adamant in saying that he hasn’t done anything and that these allegations are false.
While we don’t know why the baseball players were showering in Woods’s home to begin with, we know that there are several, unshared, names attached to these allegations.
One player, who remained anonymous, said that he found the camera while he was showering. He says that he then confronted Wood, and immediately fired him as his agent.
Before all this, Jason Wood was the agent of some notable players like the Boston Red Sox’s Andrew Benintendi, the Seattle Mariners’ David Phelps and the Atlanta Braves’ Joey Wentz.
Now, he is unable to represent any players and, depending of the results of the investigation, he could lose his accreditation as an agent.
