We all have that friend that is Burrberry-ied to the gills. And they look great! Will they like this new variance from the Burberry norm?
We think all the Burberry fans will be going gaga over the company's new print this Saturday at London Fashion Week, as the clothing company reveals its new collection. Will its new plaid featuring a rainbow be front and center?
The company is making a statement of its support for the LGBT+ community and highlighting three LGBT+ charities.
"My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to – and in support of – some of the best and brightest organisations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world," says Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey who is leaving the company after 17 years. "There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity."
The BBC News shares that one charity is the The Albert Kennedy, supporter of young homeless LGBT+ people in the UK. The Albert Kennedy fund coordinators stated, "This announcement gives voice to a large and influential community about the importance of raising awareness of LGBT youth homelessness."
Another charity being assisted is the International, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex Association, while the third will be The Trevor Project which works to prevent suicide among the LGBT community and young people questioning their sexuality here in the United States.
The famed “Burberry Check” [also called Burberry Plaid and Burberry Tartan] is actually a plaid pattern made popular by the British rainwear company Burberry, which was founded in 1836. The traditional Burberry pattern has a tan or camel-colored background, with a plaid striping of black, white, and red, although there are variations on this theme.
Can we be honest? We're loving the new print more than the original.
