Pace, who has been obviously living in the glass closet, was interviewed by W Magazine about his upcoming project where we got some insight on his perspective about gay actors, gay characters, and acting in general.

Pace told W Magazine:

Our understanding of what it means to be gay is just so different. It's culturally different. It's just so much further down the road. It's an interesting thing for me to think about in this moment while working on this play.

When W asked him about his opinion that gay actors should be playing gay roles, it was an obvious nod in inquiring about his sexual orientation. But girlfriend was not having it. It seems Pace took offense and didn’t want to adhere to any type of labels.

I've dated men. I've dated women. I don't know why anyone would care. I'm an actor and I play roles. To be honest, I don't know what to say—I find your question intrusive.

So wait…did he essentially come out of his glass closet and then go back in?

Pace’s The Hobbit co-star Sir Ian McKellen outed Pace in 2012 and this is really the first time someone has circled back to this topic with Pace. Maybe it’s a sensitive subject?

In any case, Pace is sexy and if you’re a fan of Angels in America, you’ll most likely be in line to watch him become closeted Mormon Joe Pitt. Wait—is that art imitating life?
