A Big Gay Dance Party Will Welcome Mike Pence to Columbus, Ohio

On Friday, a big gay dance party will welcome Vice President Mike Pence to Columbus, Ohio.

That afternoon, Pence is scheduled to headline an event hosted by conservative nonprofit America First Policies at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel.

Sponsored in part by ProgressOhio, the event officially titled Big LGBTQ Dance Party will transpire from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. just outside the hotel, and will feature DJ Moxy, drag queens and more. Nearly 400 people are marked as “attending” the event as of this writing.

Pence is, of course, notoriously anti-LGBTQ+ rights. He has repeatedly voted against anti-hate crime legislation in Congress, and he’s expressed support for amending the Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.

Pence also has allegedly expressed support for conversion therapy in the past, and earlier this year he got into an on-again off-again spat with Olympian Adam Rippon that never ceases to entertain.

Though this dance party sounds like a must for anyone in the Columbus area, it’s far from the first time LGBTQ+ activists have gracefully trolled the VP.

Last year, Werk For Peace attracted 200 people to a dance party at Pence’s rental home in D.C., and last December Pence and his family were greeted by neighbors with “Make America Gay Again” flags on a vacation to Aspen.
