Are The Ladies Of “Desperate Housewives” Preparing For A Reboot Of Their Own?

From Full House (Fuller House) to Roseanne (The Conners), reboots of ABC shows are some of the most successful that have launched. One show that has been on the top of the request list to be rebooted is the Marc Cherry created Desperate Housewives, and if a recent internet report is to be believed, the ladies of Wisteria Lane may be prepping to return to their storied (and dramatic) street.

The report buzzing around the internet (along with the corresponding art) stated the following about a possible reboot: Eva Longoria is set to reprise to her role as Gabrielle Solis in a brand new season of Desperate Housewives. The ninth season of the hit show will see Longoria’s character return to Wisteria Lane with a terrible secret. But this time she won’t have the support of her neighbours as all of her old friends have moved out of the street. Instead we meet a brand new cast of housewives set to include Pose actress Dominique Jackson and Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey. Marcia Cross is also said to appear but in a cameo role only.

Eva Longoria for one, has let it be known that she is up for a reboot. During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live, she let him know that while ABC has not come to the cast with an actual offer, it comes up in interviews consistently.

While an official reboot right now remains unconfirmed, the history between the cast could be one of the biggest barriers in getting the ladies of Wisteria Lane back together. While both Vanessa Williams and Eva Longoria revealed to Closer that they would be on board for a reboot, the cast’s relationship with Teri Hatcher seems to remain strained (battles between the cast and Hatcher during filming and press during the height of the show, specifically a Vanity Fair cover shoot, are well documented).

For now, we will have to wait and see if the ladies of Wisteria Lane could be retuning to our television screens any time soon….
