Josh O’Connor stars as Johnny, a young farmer whose life changes when Gheorghe, played by Alec Secăreanu, arrives to work on the family farm.
What begins as a physical relationship gradually becomes something much deeper. Beneath the mud, hard work and emotional repression is a tender story about loneliness, trust and discovering that life might be better with someone beside you.

Day-Lewis plays Johnny, who reconnects with Omar, played by Gordon Warnecke. Their relationship develops against family expectations, class differences and the racial tensions of Thatcher-era Britain.

It’s funny, complicated and romantic without pretending that love exists separately from the world around it. And yes, there is a laundrette. Apparently even doing the laundry can have chemistry.
10. Free Fall
If you prefer your gay romance with a little more angst, Free Fall is ready to hurt your feelings. Max Riemelt and Hanno Koffler star as Marc and Kay, two police officers whose relationship develops while Marc is expecting a child with his girlfriend.
The romance forces Marc to confront feelings and a part of himself that he has spent years keeping carefully contained. It’s passionate, complicated and far from an easy love story.
In other words, exactly the sort of movie that makes you yell, “Please just be honest with each other!” at the screen.
