The Northern California city of Modesto has said “no permit for you” to the organizers of a so-called ‘Straight Pride Parade” event that was planned for August 24.

The National Straight Pride Coalition had hoped to hold their event at Graceada Park.

Organizers say they expected some 500 attendees to show up at their event that was to celebrate “heterosexuality, Christianity and white contributions to Western civilization.”

Doesn’t that sound a lot like white supremacy???

Dozens of citizens showed up at a recent city council meeting opposing the rally saying it would promote animosity towards LGBTQ people and minorities.

At that meeting, one of the organizers for the event, Don Grundmann, drew big laughs when he told the city council he was the leader of “a totally peaceful, racist group.”

He later claimed it was a slip of the tongue, but you know how truth has a way of coming out.

In an interview last month with the local CBS News affiliate, Grundmann said his rally would be a celebration of masculinity, heterosexuality and more as a response to annual LGBTQ Pride parades.

“Essentially it boils down to two religious views of the world,” Grundmann said. “One is Christianity, which is represented by heterosexuality, a culture of life, and its opponent is the LGBT movement, which is represented by an opposing religion and an opposing view of life.”

According to CBS13, city spokesman Thomas Reeves says the permit request was denied over safety concerns because the group lost its liability insurance and the parks department determined the event wasn’t consistent with park use.

As a compromise, the city did say it would allow the rally to be held at a downtown plaza should the ‘Straight Pride’ group get its insurance requirements in place by Tuesday.

Grundmann told CBS13 that he believes that offer is meant to set his group up to fail. He also said that his committee would look for an alternate location for his event, promising it would take place in Modesto on August 24.

According to the group’s official website, their mission is to “save the next generation of babies,” whatever that means.

Meanwhile, across the country in Massachusetts, a similar ‘Straight Pride’ event was given approval by the city of Boston and will take place on August 31.

That organization, working under the name ‘Super Happy Fun America,’ has struggled to find sponsors for their event.

  1. Judge your self by your own measure first! Then judge others. It’s No more racist than saying ‘Black’ contributions to Western civilization, which is not uncommon among black supremacist groups.

And gay pride parades are about celebrating the polar opposite of those things that they straight pride celebrates. Consider the phrase:
Gay pride is about, Homosexuality, atheism, and all minority groups contributing to western civilization. They’ve not said that directly, but it’s close. See how It doesn’t sound bad to you when it’s applied to the gays?

Rules must be applied evenly. To say that one group can celebrate it self, but the other group is not allowed to do so, is not even application. It’s hypocrisy by it’s definition.

And ask your self the question, why is it ok for minority groups to speak of their own colour but not majority groups? Why can Gays celebrate themselves but not straights? Why is one racist and hateful, but the other isn’t, when they are the same thing?

So if you are going to apply the “speaking of your own race group is racist” rule, then you need to do it for every one else too. Judge your self by your own measure first! Then judge others.
All in all, i think you have double standards that your not seeing.
