The RuPaul’s Drag Race fan base can be argumentative with each other about a lot of topics surrounding the show, however its universally agreed on that All Stars 2 was one of the best (if not the best) season to ever exist.
There are several reasons as to why this is true. The irresistible cast, the challenges, the unforgettable lip syncs, and of course… “Read U, Wrote U”.
“Read U, Wrote U” has become an iconic RPDR song due to the lyricisms that each of the final four queens (Detox, Alaska 5000, Katya, Roxxxy Andrews) exhibited. Make fun of Roxxxy’s verse all you want, but its legendary and one that is burned in our heads for eternity.
Detox, 33, recently made a video where she invited fans into her new home outside of Chicago. She talked about “Read U, Wrote U” during the footage and how it all came together.
“Nobody heard each other’s lyrics, nobody heard each other’s verses until the night before we went in to do rehearsal,” she reveals. “When they gave us our iPods with that track [“Read U Wrote U”] on it, we were all sitting around this little table with an umbrella, smoking cigarettes, dying. It wasn’t even finished, but everyone on set was like, ’This is going to be fucking epic,’ and it was.”
