Here’s Why Bobby Berk Was Reportedly “Asked to Leave” ‘Queer Eye’

In a statement, the 42-year-old interior designer expressed:

“Queer Eye community, who have become family to me. The love that I have received from you all over the last 6 years has been absolutely surreal. You have tuned in and been dedicated fans and together we were able to share the healing powers of design. I learned from you all about kindness, love and acceptance and that has changed my life for the better. The way you have embraced me and accepted me for who I am is something that l will truly carry with me for the rest of my life.”

More recently, a source of Us Weekly revealed that Berk was allegedly “asked to leave” the show “because he wasn’t vibing with the cast.” The inside further shared,

“There were many challenges with scheduling [and] there was a loss of interest from Bobby filming the show. The network and the cast thought it was time to bring in fresh blood. His heart was not in it and the rest of the cast started to resent him because of that.”

Meanwhile, another source told the outlet that Berk “was not asked to leave” ‘Queer Eye’ because the “decision was amicable.”

  1. I love this show. Jonathan has gotten a little bit over the top, but the other 4 keep the balance with their calm, more professional approach. Can’t wait till the next season!

  2. Queer Eye just lost the most talented member of their cast, and the one that made the biggest contribution to each episode. It has been a chore to watch the show lately especially since Jonathan started wearing (ugly) dresses most of the time. He is supposed to represent style and he dresses like he just raided the sale section at Walmart. I’m sure he’s a lovely person but not so lovely to look at anymore. They are all great and do good things for worthy recipients but Bobby really was the heavy lifter on the show. Good luck to him. He’ll be missed.

    • Jonathan is the reason I don’t watch the show. Yes, he is creative and talented. But those ugly dresses he wears turn me off. I know we’re not supposed to be critical of another’s choices, but surely you don’t have to dress like trash. It’s hard to imagine how the gay community is going to continue making societal acceptance and understanding when we promote the very thing the rest of society finds distasteful.

  4. Not vibing with the cast ? Did I really just read that ? Bobby Berk is AWESOME at what he does. Bobby Berk is as Gay as any of the cast… What am I missing ? Do we drop green from the rainbow flag because the color doesn’t vibe with the other colors of the flag? Give your heads a shake. Sadly, this means you too Jonathan Van Ness darling. xo

  5. I agree they should have ended it a couple seasons ago, it started off great and I loved the times they featured gay makeovers which the original didn’t. There’s only so much Jonathan one can take he’s too much especially in the newer seasons. But yeah I think it’s time to move on. Alot of fun the first 3 or 4 seasons tho. One of the best episodes is God Bless Gay.
