AIDS Walk New York has inspired nearly 1 million, you heard that right, 1 million people to not only walk but to donate in the process.  What does that result in?  Nearly $150 million dollars raised to combat HIV and AIDS.  It is a huge force and major help for advocacy programs like GMHC (Gay Men's Health Crisis) and several other organizations who provide immense care for the thousands of men, women and families affected by the disease in the tri-state area.

This year's event, taking place on May 20th, has already raised $1,453,256 dollars (as of Sunday night) and it isn't for another three weeks.  Want to get in on the action and participate?  Here's how.  You have until May 9th to register your team (20 or more) and secure your piece of Central Park with a designated table.  Several teams like the House of Xtravaganza, New York Gay Men's Chorus and MAC Cosmetics have already raised thousands of dollars for the big day and the good news is that you can raise money until June 27th in order for it to count for your 2018 total. You also have the option to simply donate as well.

What's even better is that this year, like so many years in the past, is filled with a ton of amazing stars who are coming out to support such a great cause.  It starts at 8:30 AM where you sign in, and then at 9:15 is when the opening ceremony begins.  The opening ceremony will feature major names in the entertainment industry like Matt Bomer, Rosie Perez, Mercedes Ruehl, Michael Urie, Nico Tortorella and more.

After the walk is done, you can enjoy even more entertainment at the post-show party which is being headlined none other than the fabulous Pointer Sisters!  There will also be some amazing talent from RuPaul's Drag Race there from Aja, Milk, Jiggly Caliente and so much more.

It looks to be another fantastic event that will no doubt raise a ton of money and help thousands of people in need.  For more information, click here.
