HIV Treatment May Shortly Become A Monthly Injection Rather Than Daily Regime

Great news for those with HIV. New drug trails, that require either a 4 week or 8 week injection are just as effective as daily oral treatment. The study just wrapped up Phase II of the trials and will proceed to Phase III of trials.  With few side effects, the most common being injection site pain, the injections provide a new revolutionary way for treatment. If the trials continue to prove to be effective, the drug could hit the market in 2019.

This could be a game changer for those who live with HIV across the globe. Everyone is human and sticking to a daily regimen can be daunting. But with an injection, it can be more manageable. The new drug treatment could also impact areas such as Africa and less developed nations in the world.
