Is ‘UP YOUR ALLEY’ Your Kind Of Party? San Francisco’s Folsom Street Fair’s Dirty Little Brother

My last trip to San Francisco was glorious.  I had been several times over, but this one was as a gay adult male (Travel Thursdays – Falling In Love With San Francisco Make a couple of plans and let the rest fall into place). I did some of the adult gay male activities and cannot wait for my next visit.

I was invited to the Up Your Alley event this weekend, but I've run out of vacation time.  I'd jump at the chance to head over to a place where I left part of my heart (*winks* at Mark), but would a party run by Folsom Street Events?

To help me decide if I should be saving some of that vacation time for Up Your Alley next year, let's take a peek at the overall description of the weekend.

Up Your Alley® is only for real players – and not for the faint of heart – where leather daddies rule the streets of San Francisco’s South of Market district. Of course, if rubber, sportswear, biker gear, skinheads, punks, or any variety of built, hairy men turns you on, then we’ve got it. You won’t find a filthier event in the States. If you’re into it, there’s a scene for you. So, don’t get left out.

Located in front of the legendary Powerhouse bar, nearly 15,000 fellow leather men and fetish enthusiasts engage in BDSM play at over 50 adult vendor spaces! Spanking, punching, whips and floggers, bondage, domination and submission, creative watersports, toys and so much more are in full effect.

The main event seems to be on Sunday, but there are parties all weekend.

Would I have the balls to go to Up Your Alley?  Of course if I go there, I am sure the people would see if I actually had the balls. In talking with one of my friends who went before, he said, it's just fun watching, but many do join in.  There are different levels of participation.

When I was in Tel Aviv for Pride, a bunch of us decided to attend a PAPA Party to see what one of these events was like.  Needless to say Eliad Cohen touched me a couple of times so I was a happy camper. It was a loud circuit-esque party with muscles and nipples everywhere and all types of men.  I'm a fan of a good time.  I won't go to all circuit-esque  parties I come across, but the parties being put on by Folsom Street Events sound like must-see events.

BAY OF PIGS™ IS THE OFFICIAL SATURDAY NIGHT DANCE EVENT OF UP YOUR ALLEY®.

Folsom Street Events® continues this over-the-top leather and fetish event: Bay of Pigs™ on Saturday, July 29th from 9pm to 4am.

Bay of Pigs is a vital part of your Up Your Alley® weekend. With 1,000 fit muscle pigs, hot daddies, and hairy bears in the house, there’s sure to be loads of fun. Music in the main room by the infamous Eddie Martinez, Alexander and Asheton Lemay spinning House, Electro, Tribal and everything in between. With a mind-blowing light and visual show, many rooms of music to explore, sexy gogos, and special surprises, Bay of Pigs aims to deliver.

Be sure to explore every inch of the space, including our DEVIANTS Loft featuring music by Mozhgan, Jeremy Castillo and Jordee.

Up Your Alley is often referred to as Folsom’s dirty little brother, an event for “insiders” of leather and fetish community; and, Bay of Pigs is a major focus of the weekend with its inspired style of cheap thrills, obscene kicks, and hardcore action. Don’t forget to complete your weekend with tickets to ROUGH, the Official Closing Party of Up Your Alley at Mezzanine.

One statement included in the BAY OF PIGS description is that "Due to changes in San Francisco nightlife, particularly for large-scale events, there will not be a demo space at Bay of Pigs."  So it sounds like you will have to get your fill of scheduled voyeurism outside, but we are sure there will be many sights to see, you bunch of pigs.

Would you attend a Folsom Street Event?

Would you be more of a voyeur or participant?
