Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness and his rugby playing boyfriend Wilco Freeman are over.
JVN shared a shirtless photo of himself over the weekend with a caption that originally read as "cheaters never prosper." This indicated that Wilco cheated on him during their short time as a couple.
Jonathan switched the original text up to include lyrics from Ariana Grande's number one song "Thank U, Next".
“She taught me love, she taught me patience, how she handles pain, that s**ts amazing. I’ve loved and I’ve lost but that’s not what I see because look what I found ain’t no need for searching, rounding out my 2018 with a very gorg THANK U NEXT. #selflove,” he updated the caption with.
The backlash against Wilco was felt shortly after he broke the news. Jonathan begged his fans, both in the caption of the post and on his Instagram stories, to not attack him. "Wilco is a good person and sometimes things don't work out," JVN wrote.
Wilco spoke about the split on his own Instagram Monday, saying "Not only did Jonathan van Ness give me the best moments of 2018, but undoubtedly the best moments of my life. I will always love him and cherish every moment we shared. I encourage everyone to continue to send him love, no one deserves anything less."
Jonathan and Wilco made their red carpet debut as a couple back in September at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmys, where Queer Eye took home three awards.
The news of Jonathan and Wilco's split comes only weeks after his Queer Eye costar Antoni Porowski broke up with his longtime boyfriend Joey Krietermeyer.
Antoni has found a new love since then, linking up with former Flipping Out star Trace Lehnhoff.
