Gus Kenworthy, Olympic freeskier, actor and HIV/AIDS advocate, is putting his muscular legs to work this summer and riding in the AIDS/LifeCycle from June 2-8, 2019. Using his status as an LGBT and US representative in the Olympics, his rather large following on social media, and that beautiful smile, he is hoping to bring awareness to the ongoing HIV/AIDS epidemic and fundraise for services supporting testing, prevention, care, and more.

It’s not all posing for pics and putting on tight fitting athletic gear. Kenworthy has signed on to participate in all that is the AIDS/LifeCycle – a fully supported, 7 day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. He will be joining over 2,000 participants and 600+ volunteers in this week-long journey. Co-produced by and benefiting San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center, it is a life-changing event for many.
When not at the gym and doing sports stuff, Kenworthy is having fun with life, but he is an impressive young man who knows what he can do with his place in society. Kenworthy states:

By talking about the disease, posting about it, and writing about it, we all help de-stigmatize it. Proper education and open communication is our best chance of curbing the rate of new infections and encouraging people to get tested, know their status and utilize safe sex practices. I am endlessly thankful for and appreciative of all of my generous donors but I know that we can still do more!
