Lady Gaga stormed the stage during Pride Live’s Stonewall Day Concert on Friday, June 28.

The “Born This Way” superstar was the surprise guest during the 2-hour event that was livestreamed on the internet. Host Elvis Duran teased her appearance throughout the show all the way until he gave it away by saying “Little Monsters” which made everyone (myself included) go crazy.

Gaga, 33, ran out on stage in an amazing Pride ensemble to hundreds of people screaming her name. What came after that was a speech that was nothing short of empowering and amazing to witness.

The Oscar winner spoke so eloquently about her support of the LGBTQ community and what it has meant to her, both before and during her monumental career. She praised icons, like Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, and brought up current topics in our community like the proper usage of pronouns and the need for us to vote in these difficult political times.

Her passion for our community is incredible and you could feel that in every single word that came out of her mouth during her speech. She was one of many on Friday that took to the stage to speak about how hard we have fought since that historic night at Stonewall Inn fifty years ago and what we still need to do moving forward to ensure that one day all LGBTQ people can live as they truly are.

Other guests during Pride Live’s Stonewall Day Concert included included Bob the Drag Queen, Alicia Keys, Wilson Cruz, Donatella Versace, Chelsea Clinton and Alex Newell. You can watch Gaga’s speech in its entirety below.
