Kesha is in the middle of a creative comeback. Maybe even one of the greatest, for those on the younger side. Despite not winning the chance to sever ties with her produce, Dr. Luke and Sony, Kesha has made a new album and released two new singles from it.
However, the drama isn't over and looks like it will continue until the bitter end. The other day Dr. Luke's legal team subpoenaed Lady Gaga. It is a surprise move, as Gaga has come out in full support of Kesha, being a survivor of sexual abuse as well. Dr. Luke's legal team is saying that Lady Gaga has relevant information to false statements made about Dr. Luke by Kesha in the form of text messages. The legal team is saying that repeated requests had been made for the text messages from her but had not received them, so they had issued the subpoena.
As more details have come to light,TMZ is reporting that Lady Gaga had already turned over the requested text messages, but "were so redacted they were incomprehensible." On top of this, Lady Gaga's legal team has made the following statement:
As Lady Gaga‘s legal team will present to the court, she has provided all of the relevant information in her possession and is at most an ancillary witness in this process…Dr. Luke’s team is attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga‘s role and falsely accusing her of dodging reasonable requests
Lady Gaga is not backing down, and is still on the side of Kesha. It is sad to see the drama continue to loom over Kesha in light of her comeback. As always, we are standing with Kesha, and cannot wait for the day when this is behind her and she can focus only on making her incredible music.
