Actor Orlando Brown (That’s So Raven ) caused quite a stir this week by claiming that Mariah’s baby daddy Nick Cannon has performed oral sex on him, repeatedly, over the past years. The pop culture site Shade Room was first to share Brown’s unsubstantiated “admission,” leaving some people wondering if the troubled actor was having a psychotic breakdown while others pondered, was there any truth to it?

It’s important to note, Brown has had some big troubles since his happier days in the spotlight appearing on major TV sitcoms. Since then, he’s been featured on the Dr. Phil Show, seemingly willing to accept help for significant substance abuse and mental health issues. Last year during an appearance on Dr. Phil (wearing snake eye contact lenses), Brown accepted Dr. Phil’s offer to undergo addiction and mental health treatment.

Taking things all in stride on the other side though, was Nick Cannon, who responded online indirectly to Brown. Cannon, posted on Instagram a screenshot of an article about the Brown video, and issued the following statement of concern:

“When I first saw this, I thought it was f–king hilarious!!!!” the 39-year-old wrote. “But then after putting a little cognitive effort and analytical thought to the situation, I figured what a great opportunity for a ‘teachable moment’! First off let me say I am praying for the young brother Orlando even though I don’t really know him personally, I have always loved and enjoyed his talent and have been a fan of his past work. He was f–king brilliant in Major Payne, and had us all laughing on That’s So Raven.”

Cannon goes on further to scold the Hollywood machine as the culprit in what he perceives as Brown’s mental break down:

“…So I don’t know if there are any real leaders or solid individuals in this young man’s life, but let’s embrace him and tighten him up, so he doesn’t become another lost victim to these Hollywood circumstances.”

I commend Cannon for taking the high road and not further escalating the matter, especially if Brown is not well and going through mental incapacitation. That said, I do find it to be a bit ironic though, maybe even poetic justice because it was just about a month ago that Cannon took to the internet to spread the unfounded claim that there was a video in circulation showing Eminem performing oral sex on another man. The video remains to be seen, but apparently, now Cannon’s and Eminem’s lawyers are having “discussions.”

All I know is this is a whole lot of “gay” talk for a bunch of alleged straight boys. And as for Cannon’s behavior specifically in the Eminem matter, I guess Slim ain’t the only one who’s shady … and petty!
