Nordstrom Creates Holiday Ad With Gay Male Kiss

Have we seen a gay kiss in a commercial yet?  Well here it is.  In its video released to YouTube in November, Nordstrom's Home. Heart. Holiday. "The Homecoming" commercial gets us all giddy for the holiday season.  Okay, it made me a little jealous, too.  Here it is.

Have you personally seen this Nordstrom's ad on "regular" tv yet?  Some intolerants have seen it during some of their Hulu programming and they're not too happy when it is being shown.

Nordstrom the American upscale fashion retailer has created a holiday commercial that feature’s two gay men kissing

The commercial titled The Homecoming shows an impeccably dressed man arriving home carrying his luggage and a Nordstrom bag. He picks up a dog happy for his arrival, then he shares a kiss and hug with another man.

The rabidly right-wing website American Thinker  criticized Hulu for running the ad during programs that don’t include a “large proportion of Haight-Ashbury and Greenwich Village types” viewers. And admonished  Hulu for running the ad during reruns of The Rifleman and Dennis the Menace.

“[These shows] are generally watched by those who long for more innocent programming” and children, the site said.

Nordstrom has a 100% rating in the Human Rights Campaign Buyers Guide. – back2stonewall.com

Let's just ignore those people and all of their, "He went to Jared" and "Every kiss begins with Kay" commercials and watch this one that's made just for us.  Thanks Nordstrom!

  1. I kinda wish they showed more

I kinda wish they showed more queer people of colour in commercials kissing. It's not just gay white males that shop at Nordstrom…

    • Or they should have had a

Or they should have had a transgender person or lesbians or someone with one leg or how about someone ugly but there are a lot of Mexicans too.  Good lord !  Amy Schumer's one woman comedy show was racist since it only had a white woman in it

  2. While I do understand that

While I do understand that LGBT representation is important, is it really all that earth shattering that an upscale department store, which at the stores in my area seem to cater to gay male clients, at least in the clothing department, has a gay male couple in the commercial? Same holds true with the lesbian couple in the IKEA commercial. It's sweet, but not ground breaking. Now the breakfast commercial with two dads impresses me because the caters to a broad and average audience.

    • And then they confuse the kid

And then they confuse the kid or make fun or light of the familial situation they are in asking him who his father is .  I didn't think it was that good of a commercial.

  5. If one were determined to see

If one were determined to see two brothers who haven't seen each other since last Christmas in this, they could. They don't really linger all that long in their kids.
