Parke & Ronen’s Annual Beefcake Bonanza? With A Name Like That, We Have To Look.

Sometimes I am a little confused at fashion.  But then there are times you put men in underwear and bathing suits and the confusion goes away.  I'm kidding.  I do love fashion and I feel I could be a judge on Project Runway (like most of us think) and do a damn good job!  But I believe I would much rather have been front row at Parke & Ronen Spring 2017 at New York Fashion Week: Men's event.

The men's shows, in general, are a relatively professional affair. There's little of the exuberance or wow factor of women's; you have your suits, your sportswear, and a lot of athleisure, and men's editors, by and large, are a blasé bunch. The third New York Fashion Week: Men's, in particular, did not raise anyone's temperature. So, it was a relief to go in for some good-natured campy fun on Thursday at Parke & Ronen's beefcake bonanza, where the designers Parke Lutter and Ronen Jehezkel layered some of their skimpy swimsuits with casual beachwear and other collegiate regalia. The big novelty this season was the crop top for men, which will be a huge hit in the Fire Island Pines, if nowhere else. – W magazine

Since I could not be there, I'm going to have to rely on these photos by Driely Vieira to transport me to the event.  Most of the pics shared were backstage pictures and we'll take those, too.

Enjoy.  I know I did.

There was more coverage of this event by a friend over on his website, VeeTravels.com where he writes:

Parke & Ronen’s SS17 collection was inspired by “The Baby Ivies,” institutions that while maintaining a commitment to excellence have somewhat notorious histories, and the interplay between their past of exclusion and future of diversity according to a release. With a nod to the modern “Gentleman Jock,” collegiate and preppy styles were featured with timeless varsity and team spirit motifs, whimsical patterns and graphics, and unexpected tropical accents. The show featured hair and makeup by Aveda, necklaces by byThiel, shoes by Superga, and sunglasses by Leisure Society. In addition, the brand debuted two exclusive collaborations: handbags designed exclusively by Lodinatt and printed blazers by David Hart. More photos from the collection below, but first, more backstage moments as the model transitioned from the sun kisses to the runway rehearsal to getting ready for the show. – veetravels.com

Here are his pics as well from back stage.  I've gotta tell you, great pics Andy!

See if you can see a difference from Andy's pics below and the ones above.  Is one more of a magazine look while another is more a collection of candids?
