POSE Continues to Stand Out Above the Rest

Months after the end of their first season, award-winning writer, producer and director Ryan Murphy and the cast of the FX series POSE will be honored at The Trevor Project’s TrevorLIVE Los Angeles gala. The team of artists will be honored for their commitment to supporting the nonprofit’s mission to provide crisis intervention services and end suicide among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning young people says the official press release. The gala will take place on Sunday, December 2nd at The Beverly Hilton.

Murphy says:

I’m thrilled to be honored by The Trevor Project alongside the cast of POSE. We’re extremely supportive of the work that this extraordinary organization does to help LGBTQ young people in need feel heard and valued.

POSE premiered as the LGBTQ+ history-making show by featuring the largest Trans cast to appear on a show—ever—but also includes over 50 LGBTQ+ characters. The show is set in the 1980s New York City ballroom scene and takes audiences into the lives of a group of characters whose lives are affected by life during this time. The show is set to come back for a much-anticipated second season.

CEO and Executive Director of The Trevor Project, Amit Paley says:

Ryan Murphy and the cast of POSE have had a tremendous impact on the lives of young LGBTQ people over the past year. We're incredibly excited to honor them for their dedication to creating a community of openness and inclusiveness for LGBTQ youth through their innovative work and leadership. We’re honored that they will join us at TrevorLIVE Los Angeles as we join together to continue The Trevor Project’s critical and life-saving work.
