Hunting Club That Refused Gay Wedding Now Paying For It!

A Minnesota hunting club that refused to allow a gay couple to marry there has reached a settlement with the grooms–the club is going to pay for the wedding.

Cole Frey, 20, and Adam Block, 18, booked their wedding at LeBlanc’s Rice Creek Hunting and Recreation in February. Then when Frey went to pay a security deposit and sign papers, the venue realized the couple was two men and canceled the booking.

Lawyers got involved, things got ugly, but it's all settled now. The attorney for LeBlanc's said it was just a silly misunderstanding of the law (yeah, right) and that they would pay for the wedding. And we all know why: eating $8,500 for a wedding is a helluva LOT cheaper than a lawsuit you know you're gonna lose.

Of course, the wedding won't be at LeBlanc’s Rice Creek Hunting and Recreation because the boys decided who wants to be around people like that, anyway, especially on your wedding day.  They say they now plan to marry at Camp Ripley Chapel with a reception at a private residence in Little Falls.

Awwwwww!

  1. WHY DO HETEROS HAVE TO

My husband and I met when I was 19 and he was 23. We have been together 11 1/2 years and were legally married in Arkansas in May. I don't think these young men should hold off just because of their age. I have known several couples who got married young, both gay and straight, who are just as happy 10-20 even 50 years later. Two generations ago marrying young wasn't the exception, it was the rule, and most of those marriages are still together and happy and thriving. Physical age is not a judge for emotional maturity. Congratulations guys! I just wish that my husband and I had had the same opportunity when we met, and I look forward to the day when it isn't Gay marriage or Straight marriage, it is just Marriage where two people love each other and no one can see a difference.

  3. I’m a gay man.  My issue with

I'm a gay man.  My issue with gay marriage is exactly what this union is stereotyping.  The quickness for which gay people stereotypically enter relationships is just as quick to end them. Not that straight people are any better.  The straight community has destroyed marriage. Just ask Anna Nicole Smith and Kim Kardashian.  We as a gay community want the opportunity to express our love for our partners in the same ceremonious way straight people do and just as legal. Yet, we can't completely discredit the nay-sayers because gay or straight, there are going to be flimsy relationships.  Gay couples are just more quickly to be called out on it. I wish the couple the best but I already see the marital statistics being more than 50 percent divorce rates.

  5. 20 and 18? These two need to

20 and 18? These two need to mature a bit more before getting married. It's not a commitment to be taken lightly, and I hope they get some premarital counseling so they understand the commitment.

20 and 18? Yay equal right! Now they can get divorced too, when they realize they're not done turning into adults yet! Getting married that young and staying married forever is the exception not the rule. Best of luck, though!

My parter, husband, ane I married two years ago, after being in our relationship for 35 years! How committed is that for you? Of course if we lived in Missouri where I’m from…not accepted. ..yet! Keep up the fight for what’s right. Equality!

  14. When will this countries
When will this countries citizens grow up? They don’t understand how two men can have sex, so they build up so much hate and fear. They complain that gays are too promiscuous and can’t commit to a relationship, then they complain when we tell them we DO want to commit. Things may be changing, but there is still so much hate out there. Can’t you just give us equal rights, then leave us alone, and we’ll leave you alone. Of course, the haters will tell you that we won’t leave them alone until we can marry our pets.
