Rapper Lil Nas X, best known for his country-rap breakout single, “Old Town Road,” apparently came out Sunday afternoon on social media saying, “Thought I made it obvious.”
In a tweet, the 20-year-old wrote, “some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone fwm [f–k with me] no more. but before this month ends i want y’all to listen closely to c7osure”

While vague, the lyrics to the track “C7osure” do reference ‘acting’ and passing on regret in his old age:
“Ain’t no more actin’, man that forecast say I should just let me grow / No more red light for me, baby, only green, I gotta go / Pack my past up in the back, oh, let my future take ahold / This is what I gotta do, can’t be regrettin’ when I’m old…”
Later in the track, Lil Nas X mentions ‘boundaries’ he’d set for himself that he’s now ready to cross:
“Brand new places I’ll choose and I’ll go, I know / Embracin’ this news I behold unfolding / I know, I know, I know it don’t feel like it’s time / But I look back at this moment, I’ll see that I’m fine / I know, I know, I know it don’t feel like it’s time / I set boundaries for myself, it’s time to cross the line.”
He followed up his tweet with the cover image of his new EP, 7, highlighting a rainbow building in the mix. He added, “Deadass thought I made it obvious:”
