Elizabeth Homes has us forgetting the tech scandal for one second with her partner’s big reveal.

Billy Evans, what exactly was the assignment? Because apparently, Elizabeth Holmes’ longtime partner heard the cameras were rolling and decided we needed to see everything. And by everything, we mean EVERYTHING.

In A24’s new documentary, You Can See Everything, Evans has a full-frontal moment that has people talking, and honestly, we’re still trying to figure out how a casual shower turned into one of the film’s most talked-about scenes.

Sir, This Is a Documentary!

The film follows Holmes, the disgraced Theranos founder, in the days leading up to her prison sentence. But instead of simply interviewing her from a safe distance, directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim went all in, living with Holmes, Evans, and their two children alongside a seven-person crew for 34 days.

Yes, they were filming for up to 16 hours a day. Imagine having that many people around your house while you’re just trying to live your life. And then imagine deciding that this is the perfect time to get completely naked.

According to Oppenheim’s interview with Vulture, he once asked Evans what he planned to do that afternoon after the two had gone to the gym. Evans apparently said he was going to shower. Before Oppenheim could even respond, Evans stripped down and hopped in.

And there it was. Full frontal. On camera. In the documentary. Ma’am, we were not emotionally prepared for this plot development.

Oppenheim even suggested that Evans seemed to have something he wanted to show the filmmakers and the world. Well, Billy, the world has apparently received the message.

An R Rating? Now We Know Why

The scene’s graphic nudity contributed to the documentary’s R rating, so this isn’t just some strategically placed towel situation. The film really does commit to its title.

Of course, there’s a much bigger story here. Holmes was convicted on four counts of investor fraud in 2022 and began serving her sentence at Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas in May 2023. Evans, her partner since 2019 and the father of their two children, is part of the intimate portrait of their lives before her imprisonment.

From Silicon Valley Scandal to Full-Frontal Surprise

With a reported 98% Tomatometer score based on 146 reviews, You Can See Everything has clearly caught critics’ attention. The Holmes-centered documentary has had a limited theatrical run in the United States and Canada, with a UK cinema release scheduled for September 20.

We came for the story behind one of Silicon Valley’s biggest scandals, and apparently, we’re leaving with a whole lot of Billy Evans information we never specifically asked for.

The title said You Can See Everything. Honestly, we should have taken that as a warning.
