Kristin Chenoweth has never made her absolute adoration for the legendary Dolly Parton a secret. She has performed her music numerous times during live concerts, and when asked by Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live who her dream duet partners would be, her answer was succinct and simple. “I would have to go with my two queens that I would love to sing with, Dolly or Reba”. When Cohen asked if she had ever sang with Dolly, Chenoweth answered a simple “No; but she knows that I love her”.
It looks like Chenoweth has finally gotten her wish. On her latest album For The Girls (out September 27th), Chenoweth partners up with some of music’s most notable female voices to offer her take on some of music’s most legendary tunes. Chenoweth takes on Barbra Streisand’s “The Way We Were,” Eva Cassidy’s “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore,” Patsy Cline’s “Crazy” and even gets to perform with her other queen, Reba McEntire, as Jennifer Hudson joins them on “I’m A Woman”. Chenoweth also will deliver a song that her devoted LBGT fans will absolutely adore; a sure to be heart wrenchingly stunning rendition of Judy Garland’s “The Man That Got Away.”, while younger fans will surely devour her duet with Ariana Grande, the girl power anthem “You Don’t Own Me”.
The first single released today off For The Girls is the much-anticipated duet with Dolly Parton “I Will Always Love You” Hearing these two divine performers together on one track is a lush and glorious event, with them sharing verses on the song, and giving a fresh and wonderful take on a true American classic.
