The El Paso Zoo in Texas is calling all jilted lovers to participate in their Quit Bugging Me!!! Single’s Awareness Day celebration that will be live-streamed on Facebook and the zoo’s website. CBS News reports that if you send your ex’s name via Facebook, they will place the name around the meerkat exhibit and on February 14th they will feed their meerkats all the roaches named after exes who you just want out of your life.

Sarah Borrego of the El Paso Zoo says:

This is a fun way to get the community involved in our daily enrichment activities. The meerkats love to get cockroaches as a snack and what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than by feeding them a cockroach named after your ex!

The zoo has had such a huge response that they’ve even decided to share the roach love with the cotton-top tamarins, golden tamarins, and white-headed marmosets. That sounds like a He’s just not that into you buffet!

The Bronx Zoo also has a Name a Roach campaign which they assert is a “timeless gift”, unlike flowers that wilt or chocolates that are eaten and add too many calories.

So go through your old messages, your contacts, your DMs, purge your Facebook friends, delete your Grindr and Scruff favorites—and make a list. Now message that list to the El Paso Zoo and open a bottle of pinot grigio and enjoy every meerkat bite this Valentine’s Day.
