"Ohhhhh, fudge!"
In the same vein of Grease and NBC's The Sound of Music Live!, FOX will be premiering A Christmas Story Live! beginning tonight, Sunday, Dec. 17 (7:00-10:00 PM ET).
In case you have been living under a fruitcake for the last, I don't know, 34 years, A Christmas Story tells the story of Ralphie, whose only Christmas wish is to have Santa bring him a Red Ryder B.B. gun.
The live event is inspired by the 1983 film A Christmas Story and the Tony Award-nominated Broadway production A Christmas Story: The Musical. (Raise your hand if you did not know it was ever a musical.) According to FOX, we can expect "several new songs" and lots of dancing.
I realize that the star of A Christmas Story is Ralphie, but I am here for the two SNL legends: Maya Rudolph as Mother Parker and Ana Gasteyer as Mrs. Schwartz. Oh, and let's not forget 30 Rock's Jane Krakowski as Miss Shields. That's a total of three comedy queens, if you are counting.
So grab your pink bunny onesie, a cup of hot chocolate, and tune in!
PS: If you need anyone to make jokes about getting your tongue stuck to a pole, I'll be available.
