For one week a year, Provincetown, Massachusetts is invaded by thousands of bears and bear aficionados who go all out for an incredible time while there.
This is referred to as Bear Week, which is currently going down at the extreme tip (LOL) of Cape Cod. Bear Week started as a humble gathering about twenty years ago and since then has become one of the biggest (if not biggest) bear events in the world.
It attracts thousands of dudes from all corners of our planet who descend upon Provincetown for a week filled with debauchery, lobster, beaches, pools and each other's company. If you come with the right attitude (see here), then its pretty much a given that you will have a freaking blast each and every day you are there. Just make sure to pack a good suntan lotion. I learned that lesson the hard way.
The event takes place in mid-July every year and is filled with a variety of events that take place primarily at their legendary Boat Slip. You can also find a ton of RuPaul's Drag Race alumni there, several of which have included Bianca Del Rio, Jinkx Monsoon and BenDeLaCreme.
