Victory Fund & Equality California Endorse Mayor Pete For President

This past Thursday the LGBTQ Victory Fund, the only national organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ leaders to public office, praised Equality California’s endorsement of Pete Buttigieg for President of the United States. The endorsement from the group – with over 900,000 members – gives Buttigieg a welcome boost just four days before the Iowa Caucuses, when Buttigieg will make history as the first LGBTQ person to appear on the Iowa presidential primary ballot. LGBTQ Victory Fund endorsed Buttigieg on the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in June of last year, the first national endorsement for his campaign.

Equality California is among the most powerful LGBTQ organizations in the United States and we are thrilled they have joined us in endorsing Pete for president. On Monday, Pete becomes the first LGBTQ person in history to appear on the Iowa presidential primary ballot – a revolution in American politics that forever transforms the narrative on what is possible for an LGBTQ candidate. Pete has shattered expectations throughout this primary season and we are confident Iowans will help him do it again on caucus day. – Mayor Annise Parker, President & CEO of LGBTQ Victory Fund.
