Bless actors for all the work they put into their bodies.

As Kumail Nanjiani mentioned last week, while the internet was melting over his new Eternals body, working out for a superhero/genre film is a lot of work. And now, Henry Cavill is saying the same.

The first season of Netflix’s The Witcher has released and earned wide praise from audiences. Many are celebrating the story’s dark tone, the performances from its main leads, and specifically for Henry Cavill in all that he does. One example of his commitment to the roll is dehydrating himself.

By now, you’ve probably become pretty familiar with a certain bath scene from the show. Ever since the image appeared in a trailer, fans have patiently awaited the scene. Many were then happy to see it during their Netflix binge. And now, Cavill reveals that he had to dehydrate himself for three days to look the part.

As the actor shared while sitting down with UK talk show host Graham Norton, achieving his bathing look was harder than most would think.

“Diet is difficult, and you’re hungry, but when you’re dehydrating for three days you get to the point on the last day, where you can smell water nearby. … It makes your skin really thin so it sits on the muscles. … It’s not no water for 3 days. On the first day you’ll have a liter and a half, and the second day half a liter and the third day no water and you’ll shoot the fourth.”

But that wasn’t the only struggle (and triumph) that Cavill experienced during his time on set. Check out the video below to hear more about Cavill’s time filming The Witcher.
