We now know the two leads for Disney’s Little Mermaid live-action film.

In the wake of the Little Mermaid Live television event, Disney has announced who will be playing Prince Eric in the upcoming movie version. After Harry Styles allegedly declined the part of Prince Eric for the upcoming movie, the role has now officially been given to British actor Jonah Hauer-King.

Jonah Hauer-King is most known for his role of Laurie in the 2017 Little Women mini-series. He’ll now be joining singer Halle Bailey, who herself is fairly new to acting besides a singular acting role on Freeform’s Grown-ish, as a lead in the Disney film.

The rest of the cast, such as who will be voicing Sebastian, is unknown. Early reports of Melissa McCarthy being considered for the role of Ursula were leaked this year, but that official casting has yet to be made. And with her stunning take on the sea witch in the recent Little Mermaid Live tv production, many are hoping for Queen Latifah to reprise the role.

But despite some celebration at this Prince Eric news, there are many online who are asking the same short question, “Who is Jonah Hauer-King?”
