International Bear Convergence is the SoCal answer to Bear Week in Provincetown, BeefDip in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Texas Bear Round Up In Dallas. The annual event takes over Palm Springs, California every February where hundreds of men get together for a couple of days of fun, frolicking, and so much more.
This year’s celebration, taken place February 20-24, included a variety of bear-friendly parties and guest appearances from celebs like RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Morgan McMichaels and Delta Work and the legendary dance artist Ultra Nate.
IBC had a little something for everyone to enjoy that even the peskiest of friends (we all have at least one in our lives) would appreciate. These kinds of events are designed to go at different speeds to ultimately please each participant who has either flown in from all over the world for or driven a couple of hours to be at. If you are more in a meet and greet kind of mood then their Plunge 1.0 Pool Party, which went until 4 in the morning, will do the trick.
Want something a tad more relaxing? Kiki with your pals at the Big Queen Bingo Bear Brunch. There were also a ton of other fun things to do in between like a speed dating event and a retro tea dance at Toucan’s Tiki Lounge, one of the most iconic spots to ever exist in Palm Springs. Overall IBC is something that you hope to leave with a smile on your face… for many, many different reasons.
