Fergie Responds To National Anthem Backlash!
Mariah Carey Even Lends Some Helpful Advice!
LOL! Oh my gosh, I just can’t stop laughing! Okay, first let me please preface this next story by telling you that I’m a huge fan of musician, Fergie. She’s typically at the top of my playlists on the music streaming service, Pandora, because her voice can match any type of mood I’m in. Side note: I saw her soon-to-be-ex-husband, the totally beefy, Josh Duhamel, at a Barney’s Beanery in West Hollywood and got to stand next to him at the bar as I picked up a to-go order. He asked if I was a fan of some sports team, I think The Vikings, and I told him no, but I’m a fan of his wife. I got a laugh out of him – it was amazing.
Anyway, the world has been putting Fergie on blast for doing her own rendition of the National Anthem at the NBA All Stars game which occurred over the weekend. It was awful! From her choice outfit down to the tone of her voice. Seriously, this girl can sing but no one would know that from her latest performance. Think of the children! The kids running amuck on social media may not have a clue who Fergie or her former group The Black Eyed Peas are! Hell, they didn’t know who Missy Elliott was when Katy Perry brought her on stage for the Superbowl in 2015. I don’t trust these kids at all!
According to Entertainment Weekly, Fergie continues to be a media darling and has quickly addressed her being a trending topic for the poor performance. While her performance was…nothing to post positively about, Fergie’s personality shines throughout any flaw. She’s so gosh darn’ lovable! Fergie admits:
“I’ve always been honored and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA. I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone. I love this country and honestly tried my best.”
Another Diva with a voice – arguably the voice is Mariah Carey. She’s been caught up in a media frenzy over her poor performance on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2017. Recently, she was able to make a comeback and performed again in 2018, which received much praise than the former. Since she’s had to battle public opinion regarding a poor performance.
According to Billboard, Carey gave some kind words to Fergie about the haters:
“Dahling, nobody needs to listen to that!”
And is Carey not correct?! Fergie can sing better than anyone I know – and half of the autotuned singers we’re listening to in today’s media and Top 40 charts. Keep on rockin’, Fergie! You’ll get em’ next time!
