If there is anything New York’s leading party promoter Jake Resnicow has learned after years of throwing some of the biggest bashes in the world, it is how to make a splash! With that in mind, he is throwing what is being billed as “The Biggest Pride Event Ever” this June for the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall.
The event will take place during WorldPride on Saturday June 29th, 2019, and the WE Party PRIDE FESTIVAL Main Event will feature the entire LGBTQ community (and their allies of course) on a massive dance floor and under one roof at New York’s Jacob Javitz Center, one of the largest spaces in New York City. Tickets are already available at PrideFestival2019.com and are going fast!
When celebrating an event like the Stonewall riots, giving back to our community today is essential. All net proceeds for the event will benefit prominent LGBTQ charities, including LifeBeat and the Stonewall Gives Back. The evening’s DJ’s and the special celebrity performer will be announced soon as well.
Resnicow was recently named “Most Influential Person of the Year” by Out Magazine and it shows why he was given that lofty title. Resnicow explains “this will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate our progress while working towards a better future. It will allow everyone to come together on one dance floor, in the city that started it all”.
A quick primer on our history: The Stonewall riots were a series of spontaneous demonstrations by members of the LGBTQ community against a police raid that took place on June 28th, 1969 at The Stonewall Inn in New York’s Greenwich Village. They are largely considered to have sparked the launch of the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBTQ rights in the United States.
For the Pride Festival Main Event, Resnicow has recruited only the best of the best to join forces with for this once in a lifetime occasion. Partnering up with WE Party, the producers behind World Pride Madrid’s monumental events, along with world renowned designer Steve Lieberman and Jason Ojeda overseeing production and sound respectfully ensures that this will be the event of the year in New York City!
With the anticipation already building, Resnicow says “we are excited to make this a celebration for the record books; prepare to be amazed”!
Hotel Accommodations for the PRIDE FESTIVAL start at just $189.00/night and are available at PrideHotels2019.com. For tickets and additional information, visit PrideFestival2019.com
